“Ladies and gentlemen… it’s time to play… HOW THEY MET!”

Our story kicks off on a chilly winter night during the 2012-2013 holiday break at a buzzing tavern in Southlake, Texas. Bachelor Number One, Charles, fresh off his first semester of grad school in New York, locks eyes with a stunning brunette named Karina, home from Houston for the holidays.

Sparks? Instant. The kind that make the studio audience hoot and holler. Karina tells him straight-up, “I don’t drink.” Charles flashes that trouble-maker grin and says, “Challenge accepted.” He orders her a beer anyway. And guess what? She doesn’t drink it but that didn’t stop him… and it didn’t stop her from staying. What was supposed to be one quick drink turned into four straight days of rizz banter, and nonstop laughter, enough to short-circuit the bar lights.

But just like that — poof! — Bachelor Number One had to fly back to ice-age New York.

For the next six years they kept in touch through text messages. Then, in 2019, the stars finally aligned. Karina & Charles were both living in the same city — Austin, TX. It was unplanned and unexpected. Those “catch-up” dinners got dangerous fast. Karina realized Charles was genuinely sweet, steady, and could make her laugh until her sides hurt.

Game over.

These two went all-in: bought their first home in 2021 and turned into the ultimate power couple — ripping out kitchens, wrenching on cars in the driveway, crushing sunrise runs and hikes, and demolishing plates of wings like it was a competitive sport. In October 2025 they leveled up again when they adopted their wild Husky, Pepper, who immediately took over the sofa and their hearts.
